Councilmember John Ebiner Announces Retirement

San Dimas, CA - After an illustrious career spanning 34 years of dedicated service to The City of San Dimas, Councilmember John Ebiner has announced his retirement.

During his tenure, Councilmember Ebiner successfully won seven subsequent election campaigns, solidifying his position as the most tenured Councilmember in the region. His contributions to the community have been nothing short of remarkable, with a steadfast focus on initiatives benefiting seniors, parks & recreation, and open space preservation.

Moreover, Councilmember Ebiner has represented our city as the Delegate for several vital organizations, including the Southern California Association of Governments, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension, Rivers and Mountain Conservancy, and the Bonita Unified School District.

Mayor Emmett G. Badar says, “Councilmember Ebiner has been a class act and solidly dedicated to ensuring San Dimas remains a wonderful place to live and play. Our City Council may be losing his leadership, but rest assured, our community will continue to benefit from his wisdom.” His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our community have left an indelible mark on San Dimas. For those who wish to honor Councilmember Ebiner, recognitions can be made during the City Council meeting of March 26th at 7pm. The City of San Dimas invites community members to join in extending heartfelt appreciation to Councilmember Ebiner for his outstanding contributions. The City Council will be swearing in Councilmember Ebiner’s successor on Tuesday April 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
